77% Of RivCo's COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Have Been Administered
Of the 193,875 doses received to date, 149,079 have been administered countywide.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Riverside County health officials Friday reported 1,805 newly confirmed coronavirus cases and 33 additional virus-related deaths as the number of hospitalizations connected to COVID-19 continued to decline. The county also reported Friday that more than three-quarters of the COVID-19 vaccine doses received in the county have been administered.
The total number of coronavirus cases recorded since the public health documentation period began in early March is 271,910, compared to 270,105 Thursday, according to the Riverside University Health System.
Total virus-related fatalities stood at 3,091.

The number of coronavirus hospitalizations countywide was at 1,128, down 63 from the day before. That includes 290 patients being treated in intensive-care unit beds, down 27 from Thursday.
The county's peak in coronavirus hospitalizations was Jan. 10 when 1,675 people suffering virus-related complications were undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, Riverside County announced on Friday that nearly 77 percent of all COVID-19 vaccine doses it has received — 149,079 out of 193,875 — have been administered countywide.
Riverside County's vaccination rate is higher than the state average of around 50 percent, according to the county.
According to health officials, about 800,000 county residents are eligible to receive shots based on current criteria. See the criteria here.
The county's available ICU space remains at 0 percent, along with the 11-county Southern California region.
