Double Murder Charges Filed Against Son in Parents' Hemet Deaths

David Michael Underwood of Yorba Linda was scheduled to be arraigned at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.

Double murder charges were filed Tuesday against a 42- year-old Orange County man accused in the shooting deaths of his parents at their Hemet mobile home.

David Michael Underwood of Yorba Linda was scheduled to be arraigned at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta Tuesday afternoon on the two murder counts.

He also faces a special circumstance allegation of committing more than one murder -- which could make him eligible for the death penalty if prosecutors choose to pursue it -- and sentence-enhancing firearm-use allegations.
