36 Los Alamos Community Annexed Homes Upgraded To EMWD Infrastructure

A $3 million American Rescue Plan Act fund allowed Murrieta, with EMWD, to construct water access for 36 former private well properties.

Workers are adding infrastructure to 36 homes, including 6,720 linear feet of 8-inch diameter pipeline, 4,040 linear feet of 12-inch diameter pipeline, and related auxiliary work, and road closures and water district efforts, according to the EMWD.

MURRIETA, CA—This week, The City of Murrieta is adding 36 properties in the Los Alamos Hills Community to the Eastern Municipal Water District, and multiple road closures were in place to complete the work.

The Eastern Municipal Water District and the Murrieta Police Department announced on social media that Los Alamos Road between Ruth Ellen Way and Via Santee will be closed intermittently this week for repairs.

"The City of Murrieta secured $3 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding and is working in partnership with EMWD to support the construction of water infrastructure for annexed residents in the Los Alamos Hills community," an EMWD spokesperson said. With that money, Murrieta is upgrading the residences that front Los Alamos Road, Celia Road, Mary Place, and Mason Road, to water district access.

"Those homes formerly relied solely on privately owned wells for their water supply," according to a statement from EMWD. The project includes installation of approximately 6,720 linear feet of 8-inch diameter pipeline, 4,040 linear feet of 12-inch diameter pipeline, and related auxiliary work, and the road closures and water district efforts were planned for spring break to minimize impacts to the Rail Ranch Elementary School, according to the EMWD statement.
