'Suspicious Subjects' Call Leads to 4 Arrests, Stolen Vehicle Recovered In Murrieta

Among the arrestees was a 29-year-old Murrieta resident, along with others from Sun City, Perris and Nuevo.

MURRIETA, CA -- Murrieta Police responding to an early Saturday morning call regarding "several subjects acting suspiciously and possibly using narcotics" on Madison Avenue led to the arrest of four individuals on various drug-related, probation-violation and warrant charges, along with the recovery of a vehicle reported stolen from Perris.

Murrieta Police Department officers arriving at 12:50 a.m. to the 25000 block of Madison spotted two vehicles matching the description provided by the caller -- one listed as stolen according to a records check, police said.

Further investigation of the four inside the cars revealed each had various criminal histories, the department said.

Arrested were:

Melissa Soto, 20, of Nuevo, for suspicion of vehicle theft, false impersonation; personal identity fraud, felony warrant violations, possession of tear gas, stolen property, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools;

Erik Nelson, 29, of Murrieta, for suspicion of vehicle theft, false impersonation, access-card theft, and felony warrant charges;

Andrew Yanez, 21, Perris, for alleged vehicle theft, access-card theft, delaying/obstructing an officer and a felony warrant;

Ryan Brown, 29, of Sun City, for suspected possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and a probation violation.

All four subjects were placed under arrest and booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
