Flash Flood Warning, Plus Flooded Area Updates in Napa County

HIgh wind warning in effect through the evening until about 10 p.m.

From the county of Napa:

A Flash Flood Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for Napa County is in effect until 10:45 AM Thursday. The NWS Doppler Radar indicated heavy rain and flooding.

Locations in the warning include, but are not limited to, Rutherford, Pope Valley, Oakville, Kenwood, St. Helena and Calistoga.

Currently, all county maintained roads are open. However, there is some localized flooding in these areas:

· The Silverado Trail between Yountville Cross Roads and Highway 128;

· Mt.Veeder Road/Upper Dry Creek;

· Tree down at Petrified Forest Road;

· St. Helena downtown: sand bags can be located at 800 Adams St. and Crane Park;

· Berryessa Knoxville Road;

· Flooding at Dealy Drive (Congress Valley Area);

· Bay Tree and Mulford (Spanish Flat Area);

· There are mud slides in the area of the Butts Fire blocking one lane, Silverado Trail north of Stags Leap and White Cottage Rocks across the road.

There have been numerous reports of branches and rocks in the roadways throughout the county. Crews are responding; however, exercise extreme caution as this is a very fluid situation and there may be other locations that have not yet been identified.

Never drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway – turn around, don’t drown.

NWS also issued a High Wind Warning until 10 p.m. Thursday.

Hours are shortened today at the Local Assistance Center, 301 First St., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. because of weather conditions.
