Identity Theft Suspects Arrested In Newark
Newark Police are seized a loaded gun believed to have been stolen.

NEWARK, CA — Newark Police arrested two suspects and confiscated a loaded gun believed to be stolen,along with dozens of documents and materials used for identify theft, the department reported last week. The materials include dozens of blank cards and an embossment machine to make fake credit cards.
Officer Ryan Johnson contacted two suspicious suspects at the Aloft Hotel. One ran away, but Johnson detained the other suspect. Responding units caught the other suspect hiding in an adjacent building.
It was during a follow up probation search when the gun and ID theft materials were found.

More than 20 victims of identity theft have been located.
Johnson is a former Newark Police Officer of the Year.
