Man Pleads Guilty To Killing Woman At Orange County Park

He reported finding Ashley Boulay 's severely beaten body in Talbert Regional Park in 2018, and now he has admitted to killing her.

COSTA MESA, CA — A 27-year-old man was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison for beating a woman to death in a Costa Mesa park, court records obtained Monday show.

Daniel Correa pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon. Correa was given credit for 1,247 days, or 3.41 years, already spent in custody since his arrest in 2018.

Correa, who was homeless at the time, killed 29-year-old Ashley Boulay on Feb. 28, 2018, in Talbert Regional Park, according to police.

Correa called police just after 7 a.m. that morning saying he found a woman's body in the park.

Officers found the victim's body at the Talbert Nature Preserve at 1299 Victoria St.
