Officers arrived at the home just after 8:15 a.m. near Diamond Avenue and Bay Front Alley South. Inside, they found the victims, said Heather Rangel of the Newport Beach Police Department. Rangel did not know the condition of the man who survived.
There's no threat to the community at this time, according to Rangel, and this was thought to be an isolated incident.

According to Newport Beach police Lt. Keith Krallman in an ABC7 report, illegal drugs are suspected in the deaths, though whether or not Fentanyl is involved was not yet known, Krallman told ABC7.
"There are illegal drugs suspected right now, and usually illegal drugs sometimes contain fentanyl,'' Krallman told reporters. "Fentanyl has not been confirmed, but a hazardous materials team was sent to the crime scene "out of an abundance of caution'' to process the evidence, he said.
Police do suspect another person was with the group within 24 hours of the deaths, according to Krallman's statement.
