Man Turns Himself In For Novato Shooting: Police
A 50-year-old man was shot multiple times near the highway, police said.
NOVATO, CA — A San Pablo man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a shooting on Highway 37 that happened over the weekend and left a Novato resident in critical condition, police said.
Donald Nunez Jr., 34, turned himself in for the shooting to the Novato Police Department on Wednesday, and was arrested, police said. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.
Police said the victim, a 50-year-old Novato resident, was shot multiple times on the southside of State Route 37 between US Highway 101 and Atherton Avenue around 3 p.m. on Saturday. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but was expected to survive, officers said.

Police said they identified Nunez as the suspect and tracked his movements to residences in San Francisco and San Pablo, where search warrants were executed earlier this week.

On Tuesday, police said they served a search warrant at a San Pablo residence, recovering several guns. Nunez was still not found until he surrendered to police the following day.
Police indicated that Nunez and the victim were acquaintances, and the shooting appears to be an isolated incident. The motive for the crime remains under investigation.
