Marin ​County Reminds Residents Of Food Resources

The county reminded residents Wednesday that various food resources are available during the extended stay-at-home order.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Marin County Department of Health and Human Services reminded residents Wednesday that various food resources are available during the extended stay-at-home order prompted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Residents can find their nearest food pantry or emergency food distribution site using the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank's Food Locator App.

In addition, adults 60 and older and people with disabilities can email 457-info@marincounty.org or call 415-457-INFO for food resource information and other services and assistance.

Residents who have lost income can receive help from the county's public assistance programs:

Apply for CalWORKS, CalFresh and Medi-Cal at 877-410-8817 or online. Applicants can also pick up a paper application in English or Spanish outside of the Marin HHS offices at 120 N. Redwood Drive or 3240 Kerner Boulevard in San Rafael.

Apply for WIC at 415-473-6889. General Relief applications are available at the Marin HHS offices or 415-473-3350.

Special shopping hours for seniors and people with disabilities are available at the following stores:

  • Costco (Novato): 8-9 a.m Tuesday and Thursday
  • Nugget Markets (Novato, Corte Madera and Tiburon): 7 a.m daily
  • Safeway: 7-9 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday
  • Target: 8 a.m. Wednesday
  • Whole Foods: 8-9 a.m daily
