1 Dead, 1 Injured In Oceanside Home Invasion Shooting: OPD
Oceanside Police investigating Nov 10th shooting determined the incident was the result of a home invasion. Multiple suspects were arrested.
OCEANSIDE, CA — The Oceanside Police have made multiple arrests while conducting a Homicide Investigation of a shooting that occurred on the 300 Block of Moonstone Bay Drive in Oceanside on Nov 10, 2021, at approximately 1:16 am.
Oceanside Police responded to a call of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound at the 300 Block of Moonstone Bay Drive. Officers arrived on the scene and found a 31-year-old male inside a residence who had sustained a gunshot wound. Officers rendered medical aid and the subject was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. Additional responding officers stopped a vehicle leaving the area. Several subjects inside the vehicle were detained, including a 29-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound. Officers and paramedics rendered medical aid to the subject. The subject was then transported to a local area hospital for further treatment, where he is currently in stable condition. Detectives from the Crimes of Violence Unit responded to the scene to take the lead on this investigation.
After conducting further investigation, it was determined that the decedent, in this case, went to a residence at the 300 Block of Moonstone Bay Drive and participated in a home invasion robbery along with the additional suspects listed below. During the course of the home invasion robbery, a resident inside the home retrieved a gun and shot at the suspects, striking the decedent. It is unknown at this time if this same resident shot the second suspect, who is currently in the hospital or if this suspect was shot by one of the other suspects who were also armed with a gun.

As of the writing of this updated press release, the decedent’s name is withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
The following subjects were arrested for PC 187 Murder and PC 211 Robbery:
Deshawn Ingram – 29-year-old Oceanside Resident
Eric Dunnigan – 21-year-old Vista Resident
Michael Simmons – 21-year-old San Diego Resident
Jaylen Harvey – 24-year-old Oceanside Resident
Sydni Tucker – 25-year-old Oceanside Resident

A records check was conducted on all the above-listed suspects and it was determined that Deshawn Ingram was recently convicted, out on bond, and awaiting sentencing for a PC 245 Assault with a Deadly Weapon (firearm) case that occurred in the City of Oceanside in April of 2020.
This case remains an active and on-going homicide investigation.
