Oceanside Harbor Fishing Pier Closed For Repairs
A recent inspection identified critical deficiencies and the fishing pier has been closed while the city evaluates to repair or replace.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The Harbor and Beaches Advisory Committee recommending closing the Oceanside Harbor Fishing Pier at their June 14 meeting. According to staff reports the city engaged Brady and Associates to perform inspections of all harbor structures to assess the condition.
In late May, an inspection of the fishing pier identified some deficiencies and it was determined at that time that the occupancy should be limited until temporary repairs could be made. However, a recent inspection identified some additional deficiencies and the pier now needs to be closed. The consultant is putting together a plan of repairs needed before reopening.
The popular Oceanside fishing pier will remain closed indefinitely until repairs can be completed. There is currently no timeline for when the pier may reopen.
