• Pilot, flight nurse killed in Catalina Island medical helicopter crash identified (fox5sandiego.com) — A medical helicopter that departed from Oceanside and long operated from the Oceanside Fire Department's training center crashed off Catalina Island, killing the pilot, a flight nurse, and a patient, while two others survived. Local fire officials say the REACH crew had deep ties to Oceanside, and federal investigators are now examining what caused the aircraft to go down near Pebbly Beach.
   

• Two Alleged White Supremacists Charged with Hate Crimes for Attacks at Oceanside Pier; Third Attacker Pleads Guilty (crweworld.com) — Federal prosecutors have charged two men with hate crimes and obstruction of justice over racially motivated assaults on two Marines and another man at Oceanside Pier in 2025, while a third attacker has pleaded guilty.
