• Discover The Gathering by Rupinder Kaloti at OMA (theresandiego.com) — A major new exhibition by Punjabi-American artist Rupinder "Rupy" Kaloti is coming to Oceanside Museum of Art, running September 26 through February 28 on Pier View Way. The show reimagines immigrant family stories through vivid, altar-like wood panels, drawing on Punjabi textiles, mythology, and California memories to create a joyful, resilient vision of home and heritage.
   

• Federal indictment targets three in $8.1 million stolen check and tax refund scheme (brentwoodnewsla.com) — Federal prosecutors say a vehicle search in Oceanside last December uncovered more than 100 allegedly stolen or altered checks tied to an $8.1 million fraud scheme. Three Southern California residents now face bank fraud, identity theft, and money laundering charges connected to stolen tax refunds, veterans' benefits, and business checks across several counties.
