CAMP PENDLETON, CA – A small vegetation fire sparked Tuesday on Camp Pendleton.
The blaze broke out in the center of the Whiskey impact area of the base. The fire did not pose a threat to personnel, structures or the surrounding community, officials said.
Smoke was visible in San Diego's North County. The city of San Marcos alerted residents that the fire at the military base was sending drift smoke into the area.
