Huntington Beach Residents Searching For Solutions After Coyote Attack
Residents voiced their concerns about the coyote presence in Huntington Beach at a community town hall meeting Monday.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Huntington Beach residents gathered Monday to discuss concerns over the alleged uptick in coyote sightings across the city, the Daily Pilot reported.
The community town hall comes after a coyote attacked a toddler near the Huntington Beach Pier late April, according to a previous Patch report. The toddler was hospitalized with non-life threatening bites to her head and face, the report said.
At the town hall, community members received a presentation from Lt. Kevin Frager of OC Animal Care on dealing with coyote encounters and a Q&A session where residents voiced concerns about the number of coyotes prowling on city streets, the Daily Pilot reported.

One north Huntington Beach resident said a coyote preyed on her 15-year-old Yorkshire terrier the same week that the toddler was attacked on the beach. Her dog was later found dead on the street, the Daily Pilot said.
