ORANGE COUNTY, CA — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Southern California’s top stories, state officials are scrambling to expand testing, vaccinations and garner more information about the monkeypox-virus.

Although the monkeypox-virus is less contagious and is rarely fatal, cases are increasing in the Golden State. There are currently 786 probable and confirmed cases of the monkeypox-virus in the Golden State as of Thursday.

Still, officials are undecided as to whether a statewide emergency should be declared.

Meanwhile in Los Angeles, an alley next to the site of where rapper Nipsey Hussle was murdered will be closed temporarily to mitigate a spike of violent crime in the area.

Los Angeles City Council members voted Friday to shut down the alley near the intersection of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard, for up to 18 months. Concrete barriers could be added at the alley's entrance and midpoint.
