Thanksgiving in Riviera

Thanksgiving time in the Riviera leaves a lot to be thankful for.

Breathtaking pink streaks in the skies over the Riviera at daybreak, sycamores on Corsica in a full array of vibrant foliage, fog rolling up through the canyon in white billows.  The scent of a eucalyptus, lemons and fireplace smoke mix together to welcome in the holidays.  Nothing says winter like the orange fuchsia sunsets and the big yellow moon that rises over Santa Monica.

Time to be thankful...for our wonderful little spot on the planet, the Riviera...a real community.  Our secret stairs on the foot of Amalfi and our hidden mountain trail at the very top.  The morning walkers, runners and cyclists who help Apollo open the gate of another new day...our beautiful neighbors who bring our roving Scooter Dog home after she escapes once again, and whose flowers and fruit trees we share...who walk over our misdirected mail, who throw our papers over the gate when we are away...

Our gentle uphill climb and our canyon rims provide vistas of treetops, city lights and views across the ocean to Catalina and beyond.  Our nighttime skies are dark and, as we always have told our kids and now our grandkids, full of diamonds.

This is a very special place, our own Riviera, and we are blessed to call it home.
