PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — Two Pacific Palisades residents on Tuesday announced they have acquired the shuttered Palisadian-Post and plan to relaunch the publication this spring.

Laura and Tim Schneider, who describe themselves as longtime Palisadians, will relaunch the publication with a "'digital-first' strategy intending to serve as the authoritative communications platform for Pacific Palisades," they announced.

Palisades residents displaced by the Palisades fire are living in more than 30 states across the country, overseas and around California. The new Palisadian-Post aims to serve them, the Schneiders said.

The publication will relaunch with a redesigned website on May 4 — the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Palisadian-Post. Eventually, they'll publish a print edition "guided by extensive community feedback."

"We want this to be among the many wonderful comeback stories for Pacific Palisades," Tim Schneider said. "The Palisadian-Post is a vital piece of our town's civic infrastructure that needs to be rebuilt. We also see this as our opportunity to help restore the vibrant community that was devastated by the fire and help our neighbors with what lies ahead."

Tim Schneider will serve as publisher. He founded Schneider Publishing Company, SportsTravel magazine, the TEAMS Conference & Expo and the EsportsTravel Summit.

Laura Schneider spent much of her career in newspapers, including at Gannett and as a marketing executive for the Los Angeles Times. She served for nearly a decade as the president of the Pacific Palisades Library Association.

The Palisadian-Post ceased publication in December. Then-owner Alan Smolinisky cited a major fall in subscriptions and adverting revenue following the Palisades Fire.
