Alper's Young Musicians Big Band - an exciting and very talented group of 12 year olds will perform at Lenny's Deli on Saturday October 15th from 5:30- 6:00 PM. One set only.
This rockin' 12 piece ensemble will perform favorites by Count Basie, Henry Mancini, Herbie Hancock, Cannonball Adderly and even Elvis! Instrumentation is 2 Trumpets, 6 Saxophones, Trombone and 3 Clarinets. Alper's Young Musicians really swing and improvise too!
Directed by Gregory Alper (Alper Music School Pacific Palisades). Alper has been recording, composing for film and teaching young musicians for decades. He also composed music for the original Warcraft game. Alper Music School relocated to the Palisades from Santa Monica in 2001.
Alper says, "It’s invigorating and inspiring to hear these young musicians solo and swing. In addition to the full ensemble arrangements, each member of the band has an opportunity to improvise with the pros backing them."
In addition to leading the Jazz ensemble, Gregory Alper Music School offers private instruction on Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Guitar, Piano and Bass. Contact the Alper Music School at 454-0160 or visit www.AlperMusic.com.
Hope you can make it.
