Pali Fourth of July Parade Route and Day Guide
A quick look at the day ahead for the events taking place for Fourth of July in Pacific Palisades.

It's Independence Day. Parades are planned for Pacific Palisades, San Gabriel, Santa Monica, Westchester, Long Beach, Valley Village and Sunland- Tujunga. More than 20 professional fireworks shows are planned for Los Angeles County, with organizers billing the one at the Rose Bowl as the largest.
According to the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, part of Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades will be closed for various events, specifically between the times of 7:30 to 10 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
Will Rogers 5k/10k
Beginning in Pacific Palisades today, the 35th annual Will Rogers 5k/10K adult run starts at 8:15 a.m. and the kid fun run starts at 9:15 a.m. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and ends at 8 a.m. and takes place at the . The race is presented by the Palisades Will Rogers Ridge Runners and the Palisades Optimist Club. For more information, click here.

Skydivers and parade
Skydivers will descend on Swarthmore Avenue at Sunset Boulevard at approximately 1:50 p.m. and then at 2 p.m., the 64th annual Fourth of July parade begins between Via de la Paz and Drummond Street (see attached Google map). The theme is "Home Is Pacific Palisades on the Fourth of July." Los Angeles Laker guards Andrew Goudelock and Darius Morris are among the other scheduled participants. Concert and fireworks
At 6 p.m., gates open for concert and fireworks at Stadium by the Sea, and at 6:30 p.m. the Fifth Annual Palisades Rock the Fourth concert starts. According to PAPA, the lineup includes comedian Jeffrey Tambor, the Palisades Charter High School Concert Band, Donovan Lyman & Randy Coleman and Pacific Palisades' own Dave Wakeling and The English Beat. General admission is $6 at the gate. Fireworks start at 9 p.m.

Other July 4th notes
Officials are urging Southland residents to reduce the risk of fires by shunning the personal use of fireworks. The Los Angeles County DUI Task Force plans to deploy special saturation patrols tonight to apprehend drunken drivers.
