Scharf Named Western League Volleyball MVP

The teams have been selected and the lists are packed with Palisades High players.

Headlining the varsity team is senior setter , who has been named Player of the Year after guiding the Dolphins to the City Section Division I finals.

Joining Scharf on the first team are five more Palisades players: junior outside hitters and , senior outside hitter , sophomore middle blocker and junior middle blocker . 

Rounding out the first team are senior libero Arnel Abeleda of Fairfax, senior outside hitter Tsog Altankhuyag of University, senior setter William Bryant of Westchester, senior outside hitter Justin Cobb of Fairfax, sophomore middle blocker of Arvis Greene of University, senior setter Brandon Kim of Westchester, senior opposite hitter of Haley Shin of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies, senior outside hitter Homer Smith of Venice and senior opposite hitter Xiao Xiong of Venice. 

On the second team for Palisades is senior libero . He is joined by senior middle blocker Marshall Arwine of Westchester, senior setter Rani Bungay of University, senior setter Brennon Chen of Venice, senior opposite hitter Mohammed Choudhuryof Fairfax, sophomore middle blocker Nick Davis of Westchester, sophomore outside hitter Joseph Ibrahim of Venice, senior defensive specialist Alex Kang of Fairfax, sophomore opposite hitter Tom Krakovzki of University and junior setter Caleb Paydar of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies.

League coaches also selected a junior varsity team and Palisades' junior opposite hitter has been chosen Co-Player of the year with Venice sophomore setter Steven Glaza and sophomore middle blocker Christian Mims of University.

Joining Jack on the first team are two other Dolphins--freshman middle blocker and sophomore middle blocker . The JV second team has three more Palisades players: sophomore outside hitter , junior outside hitter and sophomore setter .

Pacific Palisades Patch will publish the boys volleyball squads Sunday.
