3 Displaced, Pets Killed In Palm Desert Fire
The blaze on Peppergrass Street also downed power lines, officials said.

PALM DESERT, CA – A blaze that damaged a Palm Desert home this afternoon displaced three residents, killed a cat and dog and brought down nearby power lines.
There was no immediate work on what sparked the fire, which was reported at 3:37 p.m. in the 74000 block of Peppergrass Street.
April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department said more than two dozen county firefighters found the single-story home "well involved in fire." Fire crews got the flames under control at 4:10 p.m.

No injuries were reported among the three adults displaced from the residence.
Newman said power lines were down near the home, and were "active and arcing." Southern California Edison crews were called to the scene.
