Petaluma Beer Festival Pours Drinks For Community (patch.com) — Petaluma residents can sip regional craft beers along the downtown riverfront while supporting local schoolchildren, seniors, unhoused neighbors, and river wetlands. The Sept. 12 Petaluma River Craft Beer Festival offers unlimited tastings, food from local restaurants, live music, and special tickets for designated drivers, all presented by local Rotary clubs.
   

2. Musician's Shows Reveal What Happens When Sitar Tradition Meets Modernity In Sonoma County (patch.com) — Sonoma County music lovers can experience North Indian classical sitar in an intimate library setting, including a performance at the Petaluma Regional Library. Renowned sitarist Arjun K. Verma will showcase a modern take on a centuries-old tradition during three free local concerts this month.
   

3. Town Shifts Animal Control To Sonoma County Amid Unheaval (patch.com) — Petaluma is shifting animal control and licensing to Sonoma County Animal Services under a new agreement worth $505,375, while the Humane Society of Sonoma County takes over the Petaluma Animal Shelter. Residents will see two dedicated animal control officers, defined response times, and continued emergency coverage through Petaluma police as the city moves on from its former provider.
   

4. Prep football: North Bay games to watch in Week 2 (pressdemocrat.com) — Petaluma football fans can gear up for Friday night's rivalry showdown as the Trojans host Santa Rosa at 7 p.m., battling again for the historic War Club. The roundup also previews other key North Bay matchups, including Cardinal Newman at De La Salle and St. Vincent's long road trip to Eureka.
   

5. 3-bedroom house sells for $1.5 million in Petaluma (pressdemocrat.com) — A single-family home at 500 Rohde Lane in Petaluma just sold for $1.5 million, offering three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage on a spacious 2-acre lot.
