PETALUMA, CA — We are incredibly excited to announce that Wiseman Park will be receiving more than 150 new trees, planted by ReLeaf Petaluma, in coordination and supported by Parks & Recreation Staff from the City of Petaluma. ReLeaf Petaluma was awarded a $30,000 grant to plant 150+ trees at Wiseman Park from CAL FIRE and California ReLeaf. The grant was awarded to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the planting of trees! We’re excited to provide more shade along the park as well as plant mostly native trees that will assist in sequestering carbon and providing more biodiversity to our park! Trees will be maintained by ReLeaf Petaluma for the first 3 years until they are established and will be irrigated using reclaimed water!

There will be volunteers at Wiseman Park planting trees this Saturday, April 9th. Please visit www.releafpetaluma.org for more information, or contact Parks & Recreation staff at 707-778-4380 or parksnrec@cityofpetaluma.org
