Controlled Burn Planned Today In Petaluma
No need to call 911 if you see smoke in the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility area.

PETALUMA, CA – The Petaluma Fire Department will conduct a controlled, daylight burn today on several small plots of grass in the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility area that is closed to the public.
Smoke will be visible around Lakeville Highway at the city limits or near Schollenberger Park on Cader Lane throughout the day.
The controlled burn gives new fire recruits real-life wildfire training, helps the Petaluma Environmental Services Division at the Ellis Creek facility on Cypress Drive with vegetation management and prevents large
accumulations of vegetation that create the potential for large uncontrolled fires.
