'John Doe' Run Over By Car In West Sonoma County: CHP
"CHP officers are looking for further information on any further involved vehicles or the identity of the victim."
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Authorities are trying to identify a man hit by a car early Friday on a West Sonoma County roadway near Occidental. California Highway Patrol received a report at 12:19 a.m. that a pedestrian was laying in the roadway in the area of Graton and Tanuda roads, CHP Officer David deRutte said.
Moments later, dispatchers got another call that a pedestrian had been struck by a car on Graton Road east of Tanuda Road. Responding CHP officers found a man wearing dark clothing, laying in the westbound lane of Graton Road.
A woman driving a 2006 Scion told the officers she "had no idea" the man was in the road when she hit him, deRutte said.

She told officers she was driving about 35 mph westbound on Graton, just east of Tanuda, when she "observed a shadow in the roadway and immediately felt an impact to the front left of her vehicle," deRutte said.
Both tires on the driver's side of the Scion made impact, leaving the man with major injuries, according to CHP.
