A Record-Setting Crab Feed For Boys & Girls Clubs Sonoma-Marin
Nearly $300,000 was reeled in for the nonprofit organization that serves youth in an area spanning from Cloverdale to Marin City.
WINDSOR, CA — People in the North Bay really love their fresh-from-the-ocean crab, like really. That much was apparent Saturday night when the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin reeled in a record amount of money during its annual Crab Feed. More than 400 people packed into the Brooks Road Club gym for the sold-out event held in Windsor.
The event featured over 80 silent auction items, 13 live auction items, several raffles, the Clubs' infamous Jell-O shots, and dancing. Event organizers with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin described the spirit in the gymnasium as "warm and unbelievably generous," making it apparent that North Bay residents also love helping their community.
State Sen. Mike McGuire served as auctioneer, and successfully rallied guests to raise their paddles so high the organization ended up netting proceeds of nearly $300,000 Saturday night.
