Santa Rosa DMV Office Closing For Renovations

The DMV is planning to open a temporary office at Sonoma County Fairgrounds during the closure.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Officials with the California Department of Motor Vehicles have announced that the DMV office at 2570 Corby Ave. in Santa Rosa is scheduled to be closed for several months while the facility is renovated.

The closure is set to begin at noon, Friday, Jan. 17. The DMV office is expected to remain closed until 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 1.

During the closure, a temporary DMV Office is slated to open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan 22 at Sonoma County Fairgrounds' Garrett Hall, 1350 Bennett Valley Road.

The temporary office is scheduled to close at noon Friday, March 27.

When the Corby Avenue DMV reopens, it will have new flooring and furniture. Other improvements include replacing the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC).

In addition to the temporary office, DMV customers also can visit the following nearby DMV offices:

  • Petaluma: 715 Southpoint Boulevard, Suite J, 13 miles
  • Novato: 936 7th Street, Suite A, 26 miles
  • Napa: 2550 Napa Valley Corporate Drive, 37 miles
  • Corte Madera: 75 Tamal Vista Boulevard, 39 miles

Further, DMV officials said, many transactions can be completed online without visiting a field office, including renewing a vehicle registration or driver license (not available when first applying for a REAL ID), ordering replacement vehicle registration cards and stickers, and changing an address.
