I-80 In Emeryville Finally Open Following Shooting Of Suspect
The westbound lanes reopened at 5 p.m. after a long, miserable day for commuters.

EMERYVILLE, CA — Daylong misery on I-80 in Emeryville is finally over - the freeway is open in both directions. Westbound lanes finally started flowing just after 5 p.m.
The interstate was closed in both directions in the 9 a.m. hour when the CHP deployed a spike strip to stop a fleeing murder suspect.
A standoff ensued, followed by the shooting death of that suspect.
