Suspect Leads CHP, Pinole Police on High-Speed Chase
The pursuit started in Contra Costa County and ended in Marin County this morning, CHP officials said.

A person is in custody after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase in Contra Costa County and into Marin County this morning, CHP officials said. The chase began about 1 a.m. on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 near state Highway 4 with Pinole police in pursuit, CHP Officer William Ogilvie said.
The vehicle in the chase reached speeds of about 100 mph, CHP officials said. The subject eventually took state Highway 37 west and was apprehended at about 1:20 a.m. just west of Atherton Avenue near Novato, Ogilvie said. Ogilvie said he did not know why the police were chasing the person.
A dispatcher with the Pinole Police Department did not release any information about the chase.
