Traffic Stop in Hercules Leads to Identity Theft, Forgery Arrest

Jaime Domingo Flores of Pittsburg was arrested on multiple charges, according to police.

A traffic stop on Thursday led to the arrest of a 43-year-old Pittsburg man on suspicion of forgery, identity theft and possessing stolen property, police said today. Officers on patrol initiated a traffic stop around 9 a.m. in the area of Sycamore Avenue and the on-ramp to state Highway 4, police said.

The officer determined the driver, identified by police as Jaime Domingo Flores, had two felony arrest warrants for identity theft and forgery, according to police. Police said the officer searched Flores’s vehicle and found several ledgers with identifying information, checks, bank records and tax documents for multiple people. An officer contacted one of the victims, who reportedly told police that Flores was also a suspect in three cases of identity theft against him, police said.

Flores was booked in the Martinez Detention Facility on the two outstanding warrants and on suspicion of possession of stolen property, forgery and identity theft.
