Already house- and crate-trained, she's looking for a calm home, and locals can start the adoption process by contacting the Pleasanton-based shelter or visiting its website.
   

• Teen Hospitalized, Suspects Sought After Pleasanton Assault (patch.com) — Pleasanton police are investigating an assault outside an Andrews Drive apartment complex that left a 17-year-old San Ramon boy hospitalized with non-life-threatening arm lacerations. A second teen from San Leandro suffered minor injuries, and detectives believe the victims were specifically targeted. Anyone with information is urged to contact Pleasanton police to help identify the two young male suspects.
   

• Julie Makinen named Embarcadero Media Foundation publisher and CEO (pleasantonweekly.com) — Pleasanton readers will soon see a new leader at the Pleasanton Weekly's parent nonprofit, as veteran editor Julie Makinen takes over as CEO and publisher of Embarcadero Media Foundation on Oct. 19. She brings deep experience in local and international journalism, nonprofit fundraising, and California news leadership, and will oversee all seven Bay Area publications, including Pleasanton's own Weekly.
