Burglary Suspects Targeting Pleasanton Cars

An uptick in thefts from parked cars has prompted a warning from police.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton has been experiencing an uptick in burglaries from parked cars this week, police officials said. The Pleasanton Police Department wants to help keep the community from being victimized. Police discourage leaving any valuable items visible in cars and ask vehicle owners to lock all doors.

"We're begging you to take your valuables out of your car," police said via social media.

The reminder from police comes just weeks after a Pleasanton woman was robbed of her purse by three suspects who confronted her while she was in her driveway. In Livermore, two suspects were arrested Saturday afternoon after a citizen called to report a vehicular burglary in progress. An uptick in residential burglaries were reported in November in Livermore and just days after, police shared photos of a car likely casing cars parked in the Positano neighborhood in Dublin. Police are also asking for the public's help identifying a person suspected of burglarizing a parked car in Danville.
