CHP Looking for Information About Crash That Killed Tri-Valley Teen

Members of the public with information about the collision are asked to call the CHP's Dublin office at (925) 828-0466.

Today the Alameda County coroner’s bureau identified a man who died in a single-car crash near Interstate Highway 580 east of Livermore Friday morning as 19-year-old Livermore resident Andrew David Kling.

California Highway Patrol logs indicate the incident was reported at 10:55 a.m. Friday, when Kling crashed his white pickup truck on Grant Line Road, underneath the I-580 over-crossing. After the crash, Kling’s truck caught fire.

“For whatever reason the vehicle veered off to the right side of the road and struck a large cement abutment,” CHP Officer Tyler Hahn said today.

“We’re still trying to figure out why,” Hahn said. “Hopefully after the autopsy comes back we’ll be able to determine if there were drugs or alcohol involved, but at this point we don’t know.”
