Dog Stuck In Vent Rescued Thanks To Pleasanton Resident’s Call To Cops

The poor pup was hopelessly stuck in the wall vent of a home and was barking in an attempt to get help.

PLEASANTON, CA — A lucky dog named Lucy was rescued from the wall vent of a Pleasanton home last weekend, police officials said. Police officials credit an alert neighbor with the discovery of the poor pup after they called police to report that the dog was barking.

Animal Services Officer Frankie Blavet, who was sent to investigate the barking, discovered the small dog stuck in the vent. Firefighters from the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department were called to hel,p and they were able to make enough room to free the distressed pooch.

"I could hear her barking and panting, I could tell she was in distress, but she wasn't moving around." Blavet said via social media.

Firefighters rescued a Pleasanton cat, who likely used up at least one of its nine lives, after it got hopelessly trapped inside a car engine compartment last month. The curious cat climbed into the compartment of the car parked in its garage and got stuck, prompting the owner to call for help.
