Enlighten Float Opening Soon, Tri -Valley's First Floatation Center
San Ramon, Danville, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, Alamo, Walnut Creek, Float Tanks, Floatation Center, Floatation Therapy, Dream Pods
Enlighten Float Center will be opening August, 2016 at 2551 San Ramon Valley Blvd., Suite 113 in San Ramon, California. Float centers have been popping up in nearly every major city over the last few years and garnering the attention of media outlets from local news stations to The Wall Street Journal, ESPN, and Time Magazine. Enlighten Float will be Contra Costa County’s largest and first full time float center, featuring three state of the art Dream Pods.
Each Dream Pod will be in its own private room with its own shower. The Dream Pods contain 10 inches of water in which 1,000 pounds of medical grade Epsom Salt has been dissolved, making it possible to float effortlessly on the surface of the water, relieving your body of the stress of gravity. The water and the air in the pods are heated to the same temperature as your skin.
After just a few minutes, it becomes hard to distinguish where your body ends and the water and air begin. While floating, your ears are just below the surface of the water, with ear plugs in, almost all sound is eliminated. During your float session you are in full control of the lid and the light. With the pod closed and the light turned off, it is completely dark, further minimizing sensory input. You can also leave the lid open and the light on; you can play your choice of music or a guided meditation. Your float experience is completely customizable.
Floating is also known as Restricted Environmental Stimulus Therapy aka R.E.S.T. People float for many reasons. Among other processes, floating reduces cortisol production, heart rate and blood pressure. World class athletes including the New England Patriots, the Ohio State Buckeyes, Steph Curry and Harrison Barnes of the Golden State Warriors and Aly Raisman, Captain of the US Women’s Olympic Gymnastics Team are using floating to accelerate recovery and increase mental clarity and concentration. Floating also relieves pressure from your joints and muscles, while the relaxing state increases the body’s natural endorphin production.
People who live with chronic pain often experience reduced pain levels during and days after their float. For the same reason, expecting mothers enjoy floating and in addition to pain relief report deep emotional connections with their babies. During a 60 minute float session your brain will naturally move into the theta wave state, similar to that very relaxed point just before sleep or during deep meditation. Research has shown that one hour of floating can be as beneficial as four hours of sleep, because of this, busy people find that floating is great way to optimize their time and feel more energized.
Spending time in thoughtful reflection, especially in a sensory reduced environment can make it easier for you to slow down, look within and clear your mind. Because of this, people who experience stress, depression, anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome find floating incredibly therapeutic. In general, most anyone can benefit from unplugging and taking better care of themselves.
Enlighten Float Center is a dream come true for Suzy Choi-Satuito and her husband Mel Satuito, Jr., both long-time residents of the San Francisco Bay Area. They discovered floating at Reboot Float Spa in San Francisco, after watching an ESPN video on Stephen Curry's and Harrison Barnes' floating experience.
The two immediately fell in love with the way floating made them feel. Since they knew that this was a practice that they would continue for the rest of their lives, they immediately chose to start their own float center in San Ramon where they have lived for the past four years.
They are very excited to have the opportunity to share the benefits of floatation therapy with the people in and around San Francisco Bay Area and the Tri-Valley area. Please take a few minutes to check out the Enlighten Float Center website and social media pages for more information about floating and updates on their official grand opening.
