Mohr Elementary Recognized as a 2010 Distinguished School
Mohr is among 500 schools across California to be given the Distinguished School recognition this year.

Henry P. Mohr Elementary School is among the nearly 500 elementary schools in California to be named a 2010 California Distinguished School.
It's the third time for the school to be given this distinction. The school received the honor in 2000 and also in 2004. The award is given by the California Department of Education to schools based on their Academic Perfomance Index and the results of the Adquate Yearly Progress.
According to a statement by Superintendent Jack O'Connell, the schools were determined based on their academic execellence and because they have been able to narrow achievement gaps. O'Connell also said in the statement that the schools succeeded despite a financially challenging year of cutbacks.
