Pleasanton Remembers 9/11 With Local Firefighters

The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department will honor fallen first responders who put their lives on the line after the attack on America.

TRI-VALLEY, CA — The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department is slated to hold a 9/11 memorial event Friday morning, 19 years after nearly 3,000 were killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

The LPFD event will be streamed here on the department's YouTube channel at 6:45 a.m. Video of the event will be accessible on the webpage after the event concludes.

LPFD will speak in honor of the first responders who died that day and ring a bell in remembrance of them. Firefighters will raise the American flag and lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Elsewhere in the Tri-Valley, Las Positas College will host a virtual event will feature remarks from a lieutenant colonel who supported the president from a bunker on the day of the attacks. An Exchange Club of the San Ramon Valley virtual event will spotlight the story of an Oakland Fire Department captain who found himself in the middle of response efforts on 9/11.
