SEE: Tiny Deer Rescued By Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters

The rescue was captured on video.

PLEASANTON, CA — Firefighters helped rescue a small deer caught in the fence behind a Pleasanton home Monday. The rescue, which was reported on Smallwood Court at about 12:30, was captured on video, according to fire officials. In August of 2016, firefighters rescued another Pleasanton fawn that was trapped in an iron fence for more than four hours.

Firefighters from all over have been busy with East Bay animal rescues over the last several months.

Eight darling ducklings run amok were rescued in April after they ended up in a Pleasanton storm drain. The anxious mother duck stayed nearby until she was reunited with her brood.

In March, a blind Labrador Retriever who had been missing for eight days and seven nights was found lying on the forest floor, seemingly lifeless, by an off-duty Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighter and his friend out for a hike in Santa Cruz County.
