Drenched Kitten Rescued From Storm Drain
A Newark police officer, who's allergic to cats, went down into the storm sewer to rescue the soggy feline.
NEWARK, CA — Someone's not having a good day! It was actually a rough couple of days for this pathetic little soggy mess of a kitten. On Wednesday, the Newark Police Department received reports that a kitten had been stuck in a storm drain for two days. So who got dispatched to the call? A police officer who's allergic to cats.
Officer Matt Warren was game anyway. When he arrived, he could hear the kitten meowing for help. Warren removed the grate and jumped into the sewer, which came up to his chest. The kitten was 30 feet into the drain sitting in running water.
It took a bit of coaxing, but Warren was able to get the kitten to come out so it could be rescued.
