Arrest Made In Pleasanton Mother-Son Double Homicide; Victims Identified

Authorities arrested a 31-year-old San Jose man accused of killing a Pleasanton woman and her son Wednesday morning.

PLEASANTON, CA — A 31-year-old San Jose man was arrested Thursday evening on suspicion of killing a 67-year-old Pleasanton woman and her 28-year-old son Wednesday, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

On Wednesday, Pleasanton detectives identified Allen Swadley as the prime suspect for the shooting and issued a warrant for his arrest, the department said. Thursday evening, the San Jose Police Department contacted Swadley during a traffic stop triggered by an Automated License Plate Reader notification.

San Jose police detained Swadley without incident and transferred him to the custody of the Pleasanton Police Department. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail on two counts of murder. He is currently being held without bail, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Locator.
