Friday Redlands Gas $4.39/Gallon, Up the Street 132mpg + Electric Scooters
The Shell and 76 stations at 6th Street and Redlands Boulevard had the same price advertised for regular gasoline listed at $4.39 a gallon. Honda Yamaha of Redlands was offering high-mileage and gas-free transportation.
The Friday afternoon gas price in downtown Redlands was $4.39 a gallon for regular at 6th Street and Redlands Boulevard.
A few steps east of the Shell and 76 stations that had identical gas prices, Honda Yamaha of Redlands was selling scooters with manufacturer's fuel efficiency estimated at 132 miles per gallon.
The motorsports dealer was also selling scooters that run exclusively on electricity.

Sales staff in the sprawling showroom said they've noticed increasing consumer interest in scooters in recent months, due in part to rising gas costs.
The 2012 Yamaha Zuma 50F, billed as capable of 132 mpg based on exhaust emission certification, was listed Friday afternoon at $2,490 retail. The scooter has a top speed of around 40 miles per hour, a sales manager said.

The e-Moto G3 Silicon scooter is all-electric and comes in two models: one limited to 28 miles per hour and the other capable of 34 mph, according to the manufacturer. The G3 has a range of about 30 miles and it can recharge from any regular electrical outlet in 4 to 5 hours. A 2010 model at Honda Yamaha of Redlands was listed at a sale price of $1,599.
