Loma Linda Medical Center Offers Pet-Grief Group

Medical center officials say they understand those who lose a pet need support and time to grieve.

The loss of a pet could be one of the saddest events a person can experience.

Pets are part of the family in many households, and we can share bonds with them that can run very deep – sometimes even deeper than those we have with people. A person who loses a beloved pet needs time to grieve and have support during a very difficult time.

Organizers of the Pet-Grief Group at Loma Linda University Medical Center want people to know that there are people out there ready to help you through your pain and grief.

The grief specialists could offer insights and support for people grieving over the death of their pet; provide tools to parents to help their children with pet loss; and find ways to cope and seek closure.

New groups begin the first Tuesday of January, April, July and October from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for seven consecutive weeks. Registration fee is $50.

To register, call 909-558-7355 or e-mail: bgilbert@llu.edu
