Men, know your stats!

A free men’s health event is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at Loma Linda University Heart & Surgical Hospital, 26780 Barton Road, Redlands.

Loma Linda University Heart and Surgical Hospital has joined the campaign to help men know their stats about prostate cancer. The event will include free prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screenings, blood pressure screenings, as well as a tour and opportunity to interact with the da Vinci Robot. Physicians will be speaking on various topics and former NFL player and prostate cancer survivor, Mike Haynes, will be the guest speaker.

Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer affecting men in the United States, but it is the most treatable when caught early. Establishing a baseline PSA score at age 40 can help doctors better interpret future PSA scores. Know your stats, and don't let prostate cancer take you out of the game.
