Three years ago, when the 2009 Champions League final featured Barcelona and Manchester United, the global audience was estimated at 109 million, which exceeded viewership for Super Bowl XLIII's Pittsburgh Steelers-Arizona Cardinals matchup by 3 million, BBC Sport reported.
It was the first time a Champions League final was the most-watched annual sporting event worldwide.
Regardless of how many people across the globe tune in for the match Saturday, the spectacle is expected to bring moments of to the Falconer.
Chelsea FC is going up against Bayern Munich in the German team's home stadium, and some soccer pundits give the London club little chance of winning.
But both teams will be without key players due to suspensions, and Bayern famously lost the 1999 Champions League final when Manchester United scored two goals in the last moments.
