Glock And Ammo Stolen, Robbery Arrest: Redondo Beach Crime Blotter
The crime blotter covers incidents in Redondo Beach from Aug. 4-10.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Redondo Beach Police Department crime blotter.
Shoplifting
- Aug. 4, 2023 – 6:10 p.m. to 6:17 p.m. – 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard – According to the Redondo Beach Police Department, at least eight juvenile suspects entered an open store and allegedly took two packages of underwear and two t-shirts. Authorities said the manager of the store attempted to stop the suspects at the exit but fell. No additional suspect information was available.
Robbery
- Aug. 5, 2023 – 12:23 p.m. to 1:25 p.m. – 4400 block of Redondo Beach Boulevard – A man was arrested after allegedly threatening a victim and taking their Motorola cell phone, police said.
Commercial Burglary
- Aug. 10, 2023 - 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - 200 block of Avenida Del Norte - According to authorities, a suspect took a Louis Vuitton handbag and wallet containing credit cards, a set of keys, cash and Ray ban sunglasses from an open store. No suspect information was available.
- Aug. 8-9, 2023 - 1:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.- 100 block of Space Park Drive - Power and handtools were reported stolen from a locked storage bin in a construction area, police said. No information about any suspects was available.
- Aug. 7, 2023 - 1:24 a.m. to 7 a.m. - 200 block of South Pacific Coast Highway - A cash register was stolen from a business after two male suspects shattered the front glass door, police said. The suspects were seen leaving the location in a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee.
- Aug. 7, 2023 - 1:55 a.m. to 2:38 a.m. - 1800 block of South Catalina Avenue - Two suspects allegedly smashed the front door of a business before taking a cash box full of cash from inside, RBPD said. The first suspect was described as a Hispanic man aged 25 to 35 years old. the second suspect was described as a woman who was also about 25 to 35 years old.
- Aug. 3, 2023 - 12 a.m. to 2 p.m. - 4000 block of Inglewood Avenue - A person's mail was reported stolen from their locked mailbox, police said. Authorities said it could be possible that the mail key was taken from an unlocked vehicle.
- Aug. 1, 2023 - 1:39 a.m. to 10:22 p.m. - 2500 block of Artesia Boulevard - Four unknown suspects allegedly broke into a locked business after hours via a smashed window on the west side of the building, RBPD said. Officers said eight backpacks, vapes and electronic cigarettes, tobacco products and cash were reported stolen from the business. The suspects were seen leaving the location in a black Kia sedan that could possibly be an Optima.
Residential Burglary
- Aug. 2-6, 2023 - 12 a.m. to 12 a.m. - 1000 block of Avenue H - Eight Nikon cameras and 11 camera lenses were reported stolen from a locked home, RBPD said. It is unknown how the suspect entered the house and no suspect information was available.
- Aug. 2-3, 2023 - 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. - 2400 block of Perkins Lane - Essential identification documents such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate, social security card and two children's birth certificates were reported stolen from a secured residence, authorities said. Officers said it is unknown how the man got into the home.
Vehicle Burglary
- Aug. 8-9, 2023 - 4:30 p.m. to 12 p.m. - 1200 block of Stanford Avenue - Ray Ban sunglasses were reported stolen from a black 2015 Ford Edge. No suspect information was available.
- Aug. 5-6, 2023 - 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. - 1000 block of Camino Real - A suspect allegedly broke into two locked vehicles to take nursing tools, a Gerber tool belt, five keys, an Apple pen and a wallet with credit cards inside, police said. No suspect information was available.
- Aug. 1-2, 2023 - 9 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. - 300 block of North Harbor Drive - The front passenger's side window of a gray 2022 BMW X3 was smashed, but nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle, police said.
Taken From Vehicle
- Aug. 7, 2023 - 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. - 300 South Harbor Drive and George Freeth Way - A Glock 17 semiautomatic firearm with its case, as well as two ten-round magazines, were stolen from an unlocked car, police said. No information about any suspects was available.
- Aug. 3, 2023 - 1:39 a.m. to 2:05 a.m. - 400 block of Avenue F - An unknown quantity of Got Bag backpacks were taken from an unlocked car, police said. RBPD said there are two suspects, but no description of them was available.
Stolen Vehicles
- Aug. 4-5, 2023 - 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. - Torrance Boulevard and Guadalupe Avenue - A beige 2013 Kia Soul with a Ryobi sander, two fishing rails and miscellaneous business documents inside was stolen, police said. The car's license plate is 6XWW200.
- Aug. 4, 2023 - 1:04 p.m. to 1:18 p.m. - 1600 block of Kingsdale Avenue - Suspects attempted to steal a silver Honda CRV, but were unsuccessful. Police said the suspect tampered with the ignition, which caused the car not to start.
- Aug. 3-4, 2023 - 4:30 p.m. to 5:07 a.m. - 2000 block of Vanderbilt Lane - A silver 2006 Chevrolet Silverado with the license plate 66761C2 was reported stolen. No suspect information was available.
