• Suspect Bites Off Part Of Redondo Beach Police Dog's Ear (patch.com) — Redondo Beach residents are learning that K-9 Wouter is recovering after an armed suspect bit off part of his ear while he assisted the city's SWAT team during a barricade situation in Wilmington. Despite the painful injury, the police dog helped officers safely take the wanted felon into custody and is now resting after treatment at a specialty animal hospital, as the department praises its K-9 team.
   

• Friendship Campus to open January, will partner with autism nonprofit (dailybreeze.com) — A major new Friendship Campus on Inglewood Avenue in Redondo Beach is set to open Jan. 21, offering job training, arts programs, and a vocational pathways partnership with Els for Autism for neurodiverse adults. The privately funded $70 million center will expand the Friendship Foundation's reach beyond its current 6,000 participants, adding work-based learning classrooms, internships, and job coaching aimed at long-term employment and independence.
