Redondo Chamber President Marna Smeltzer Retires After 32 Years
Smeltzer was involved in multiple projects during her tenure that improved Redondo Beach.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – Marna Smeltzer, the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce President, is retiring and the chamber is looking for a replacement. Smeltzer became president of the commerce in 1986, maintaining her position for 32 years.
During her tenure, revenues to the city from hotels increased from $3 million to more than $8 million over the course of five years through the Transient Occupancy Tax, according to The Beach Reporter. Slightly less than nine percent, up until this year, went toward the Redondo Beach Visitor's Bureau, which is Chamber-controlled to market the city, the newspaper reported.
"I am proud to have led this chamber during a time when we focused not just on the success of Redondo Beach businesses and the region, but on the success of our entire community," Smeltzer told The Beach Reporter.
