2 Allegedly Steal Bike From Peninsula Teen

BREAKING: The female suspects, both 20 and from Menlo Park and Daly City, were located nearby and arrested, SSF officials said.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – Police arrested two women who allegedly robbed and threatened a victim Saturday evening in South San Francisco.

At 6 p.m., a 17-year-old boy from South San Francisco was riding his bike on the first block of South Spruce Avenue when a vehicle twice tried to ram the boy off his bike, police said.

The driver, identified as 20-year-old Serena Greene of Daly City, then confronted the boy and demanded the bike. He complied and gave it to her, police said.

According to police, a passenger in the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Makayla Vanpelt of Menlo Park, also threatened the victim.

The suspects then fled the scene with the victim's property, police said.

South San Francisco police officers located Greene and Vanpelt a short distance away in their vehicle.

Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, and were taken to the San Mateo County Jail, police said.
